Isabel Coutinho

My name is Isabel Coutinho, a native of Gouveia, mainland Portugal, and I have lived in the United States since 1971.
I have a teaching degree from Bridgewater State University and University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a major in Spanish and minor in Portuguese, French and English.
I taught mainly Spanish and Portuguese at Taunton High School for over 30 years until my early retirement in 2011. Sharing my knowledge and great love of languages with my beloved students was both a pleasure and a dream!
I feel blessed to have remained friends with some of them, and being called “señora”/“senhora”, still, continues to warm my heart to this day!
In 2015, I joined the Falmouth Night School family where I met eager learners, interesting people and some amazing friends.
In 2018, my two younger grandchildren needed “vovó”, for some good food, diaper changes and Portuguese lessons, but they are now in school full time and I am back to my teaching days!
I am very excited to be back at FCS for some great classes, filled with knowledge and great laughter, where STRESS is never allowed!
