Please support our efforts in providing after school programs for our students.  All of the programs offered through Falmouth Community School are free of charge to our students. Here is a description of one of our programs offered at all four of our Elementary Schools.

Students in kindergarten through fourth grade will have the opportunity to explore the rich cultural communities of Falmouth and Cape Cod.

Falmouth Community School presents: “Our Cultural Community” In this program, students in kindergarten through fourth grade will have the opportunity to explore the rich cultural communities of Falmouth and Cape Cod. Students will work with educators from the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, the Cape Verdean Cultural Center and Hispanic Heritage to investigate art, dance, and historical traditions. Students will then have the opportunity to explore their own ancestry through individual cultural expression using music, art and dance.

What does a Scientist Do?: Inquiry and Innovation In this program, students in grades three and four will have the opportunity to work with scientists and researchers from the Woods Hole community to learn about how scientists answer questions and solve problems. Each week, a science educator from a Woods Hole Science Partner will visit the school and guide students through a hands-on investigation in a variety of topics to solve an engaging problem. Participating Science Partners are Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Association, and the Marine Biological Laboratory.
